OTBI Report with filters and dashboard


To Create OTBI Report with filters and dashboard we will need to do the following things

Create an Analysis
Add Filter Criteria in the Analysis
Create a dashboard
Add the created analysis to the dashboard


      1. Create an Analysis

Go the Navigator > Reports and Analytics > Catalog Icon > Create a new Analysis

There are four areas in an OTBI report
Criteria, Results, Prompts, Advanced
  • Criteria

Choose Subject Areas for which you want to make report. Here I am choosing Workforce management – Absence Real Time

From the left hand side, choose the columns you want in your report and drag and drop them to the selected column area. To add filter, choose the column on which you want to add filter by clicking the settings button on the right side of column name.

      2. Add Filter Criteria in the Analysis

Here I am adding filter to Person Type column.
Choose the values that you want to appear in your filter. Click Okay.

Contingent Worker, Employee.

We are choosing Contingent worker, Employee and not Pending worker as we are trying to eliminate it from the report output.
  • Prompts
Click prompt > Column Prompt > Choose the column for which you want prompt.
Here I am choosing Person Type for which I applied filter and Choice List as User Input. Click on OK.Save the report.

3&4. Create a Dashboard and Add the created analysis to the dashboard

Dashboard > My Dashboard
Choose the report made earlier from catalog
Now drag and drop the report to column 1
Save the Dashboard

Once you run the report, you will get the Person Type filter. Choose the Person Type.
Depending on the person type you choose you will get your results.
